kadó and the box makers - two Kreuzbergers co-operate

Anyone travelling in Kreuzberg will at some point pass the beautiful large building in Oranienstrasse with the sign ‘Städtische Blinden-Anstalt’. After the institution for the blind, USE, Union Sozialer Einrichtungen gGmbH, now uses the bright, beautiful workshops in the building. Behind these walls, creative people with and without disabilities work in the brush weaving workshop, bookbinding workshop, pottery workshop, tailoring workshop, textile workshop and box making workshop. The handmade art and everyday objects are offered for sale in the cosy shop café next door. It was there that we were inspired and made contact with the box makers. Since then, we have had the beautiful boxes on offer, suitable for 250g of liquorice mix, also put together by hand. A doubly personalised gift from USE and kadó.

The collaboration has also developed into a collaboration with kadó. Every Wednesday we are now actively supported by one of the box makers at kadó.
